Downloading an ODM file is part of the OverDrive MP3 Audiobook download process.
To resolve this issue, ensure that you have OverDrive® Media Console™ installed on your device. To review system requirements and download OverDrive Media Console, click here.
If you have an Android device running Android v1.5 (or newer), you can complete the OverDrive MP3 Audiobook download by opening the ODM file in OverDrive Media Console for Android. Select the ODM file to open it in OverDrive Media Console for Android.
If you have a BlackBerry device running BlackBerry v4.5 (or newer), you can complete the OverDrive MP3 Audiobook download by opening the ODM file in OverDrive Media Console for BlackBerry. Select the ODM file to open it in OverDrive Media Console for BlackBerry.
If you have a Windows Mobile 5 or 6 device, you can complete the OverDrive MP3 Audiobook download by opening the ODM file using OverDrive Media Console for Windows Mobile. Select the ODM file to open it in OverDrive Media Console for Windows Mobile.
If your mobile device is not listed above, you cannot download OverDrive MP3 Audiobook titles directly to your device. In order to listen to OverDrive MP3 Audiobook titles on a supported portable device, you must first download OverDrive MP3 Audiobook titles to your computer and then transfer them to the device using OverDrive Media Console. Note that downloads of Parts cannot be resumed from the point at which they were interrupted.
On Android…
- Open OverDrive Media Console for Android.
The title is displayed in the Library. - Select the title.
The 'Player' screen is displayed. - Select Menu > Details > Parts.
The title's Parts are displayed. - Select the problem Part.
- Select the 'Delete' button.
You are asked to confirm that you want to delete the Part. - Select 'Yes' to delete the Part.
You should now have the option to re-download the incomplete Part.
On BlackBerry…
- Open OverDrive Media Console for BlackBerry.
The title is displayed in the Library. - Select the title.
The 'Player' screen is displayed. - Select Menu > Manage Parts.
The title's Parts are displayed. - Select the incomplete Part.
- Select the 'Delete' button.
You are asked to confirm that you want to delete the Part. - Select 'Yes' to delete the Part.
You should now have the option to re-download the Part.
On iPhone®…
- Open OverDrive Media Console for iPhone.
The title is displayed in the Library. - Select the title.
The 'Player' screen is displayed. - Select 'Details'.
The 'Details' screen is displayed. - Select 'Parts'.

- Select the 'Delete' button.

- Close OverDrive Media Console for Windows Mobile.
- In File Explorer go to My Documents > My Media > MP3 Audiobooks, and open the folder for the problem title.
- Delete the MP3 file that corresponds to the problem Part.
- Open OverDrive Media Console for Windows Mobile.
- Select the title and click on 'Download'.
You should now have the option to re-download the incomplete Part.

You may have downloaded an ODM file that can be opened in OverDrive Media Console for Android. To see if you downloaded an ODM file…
- Open the Android Browser.
- Select Menu > More > Downloads.
'Download history' is displayed. - Look for a file with the same name as the book you are attempting to download. The filename will end with '.odm'. If you find a file, select it to open the file in OverDrive Media Console for Android. You will next be prompted to download the Parts of the audiobook.
If you do not find an ODM file, it is possible that your browser is displaying the standard version of this web site instead of the mobile version. This error message typically indicates that the BlackBerry Browser is not able to process an ODM file. The download of an ODM file is part of the OverDrive MP3 Audiobook download process and it is downloaded when you click the 'Download' link.
To work around this error, follow these steps…
- Download and install Opera Mini™ v4.2 (or newer). To download the Opera Mini browser, click here.
- Open Opera Mini.
- Access http://overdrive.naperville-lib.org.
- Login to your account.
- Select 'My Items Out'.
- Select the 'Download' link for the title.
You are prompted to open or save the ODM file. - Select 'Save'.
- Save the ODM file to the media card.
The ODM file is downloaded. - Select Menu > Exit to close Opera Mini.
- Open the 'Media' application.
- Select Menu > Explore > Media Card.
The contents of the media card are displayed. - Navigate to the saved ODM file.
- Select the ODM file.

This error typically indicates that your device has an unsupported version of the BlackBerry operating system. OverDrive Media Console for BlackBerry requires BlackBerry OS v4.5 (or newer).
[Windows Mobile only] I tried to download an OverDrive MP3 Audiobook title to a Windows Mobile device and got an error saying 'Unable to locate folder of Windows Mobile device because folder is not found.' What should I do?
This error occurs if you have specified that you want to save a title to a sub-folder on an encrypted SD card. Currently, OverDrive Media Console for Windows Mobile only supports the download of OverDrive MP3 Audiobook titles to the root folder of encrypted SD cards. Saving to sub-folders is supported if the SD card is not encrypted.
